I have been photographing since my teens, and exhibiting my fine art photographs in galleries and shows for the past 10 years.
I was born and raised in Toledo, OH, attended Kenyon College for undergrad, and received my Masters from Pacific University in Eugene, OR. I slowly inched back to the Midwest, with a few years in Ann Arbor, and here I am, raising a family right where I started!
It was not until I gave birth to my son when I realized how truly fleeting time is, and how it is up to us to capture and record our lives. Photography emits life, and I cannot help but be energized and inspired by all the contemplative expressions, smiles, and sparkly eyes I have captured thus far. Though, at the end of the day, these images are for you.
In printing my own images, I take part in a very magical process. The image becomes tangible, an object, something you hold in your hands. The image can decorate your space and it can be a gift to family. It becomes a possession like no other. A photograph is an artifact that lives with us, and beyond us. Often I am convinced there is nothing more powerful than a photograph, thus nothing more powerful than recording memories.
It is important to me to capture your true selves. Let the children run around. Let them get dirty. Laugh at your son's funny face. Giggle at inside jokes. Get out the bubbles, hop in the wagon, tumble in the grass. Be with who you love, and let me do the work. I don't so much believe in photographs shot in studios. I come to you, where you and your family, are yourselves.
Beautiful things are happening to you. Let's capture them, and create images that may potentially last forever.
